ABOUT William H. Koch, DC

Dr. William H. Koch is a 1967 cum laude graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic.

Back in the sixties the Chiropractic Licensing Wars were still ongoing and Dr. Koch was right in the middle of that battle. It was a challenging time to be a Chiropractor.

Also known as Dr. Bill, he began his practice near his hometown in the Hamptons on Long Island, New York. There he built one of the largest and most successful practices in New York, where he served a broad spectrum of patients ranging from the rich and famous to farmers and fisherman, local business owners and housewives.

In 1984 Dr. Koch, a lifelong boater, was inspired to create a seagoing Chiropractic

Office and commissioned the building of “The Coastal Chiropractor,” a 44 foot trawler motor yacht, which he berthed near his home on Dering Harbor, Shelter Island, N.Y.   Aboard this yacht in Shelter Island he developed a second thriving practice.

In 1989, restless for adventure and tired of cold New York winters, he cast off for the warm waters of the Caribbean.  He has written about his cruising adventures in his book, Chiropractic the Superior Alternative, published in 1995, and is continuing the story as he writes his next book, The Out Island Chiropractor.

The Out Island Chiropractor is the story of the adventure of living and working in the Abaco out- islands of the Bahamas, where he and his wife Kiana have lived and worked together for 15 years, bringing 21st century chiropractic care to the people of these remote islands. As the “Out Island Chiropractor” he built and maintains his third successful practice.

Most recently Dr. Koch bought a home in the quaint north-central Florida town of Mount Dora, and is in the process of building his fourth practice. Dr. Koch has had a lifelong passion for helping people, and now enjoys serving the people of Lake County.

Equally passionate about his practice and his profession, Dr. Koch is a perennial student of chiropractic technology and all things related to natural healthcare.

He has now expanded his outreach beyond his chiropractic practice to writing and teaching other chiropractors about advanced techniques in patient focused, results driven healthcare. He is also developing a Course Curriculum so that he may share the knowledge and experienced gained over nearly half a century as a chiropractor with the younger members of his profession.

In his writing, his teaching and his practice he emphasizes the importance of providing personalized, holistic healthcare that treats the cause, not just the symptoms.
